Because the eXhibition:editor3D was modified by Fraunhofer Graz to support the multi-touch table they developed, the regional newspaper Kleine Zeitung featured an article about the editor and the cooperation in its online presence.

The eXhibition:editor3D running on the multi-touch table will also be available to see and test at the CeBIT conference next week in Hannover, Germany.

Students of the University of Applied Sciences in Eisenstadt have completed a project with a regional museum from Lower Austria. They have built a virtual museum including all steps, beginning with the concept and the gathering and creation of media files. The images, movie clips and audio files were then positioned with the eXhibition:editor3D within a virtual space, which was built to look like a farm.

Our team was invited to give a presentation of the software and its purpose during the MinervaEC dissemination, which was held in scope of the EVA conference in Vienna.
Monday, 25 August, was the day of the Minerva presentations, to be followed by the EVA conference presentations on Tuesday and Wednesday. A round of workshop sessions on Thursday closed the conference.
As of today Vivaty Scenes is going public and inviting everyone to join their community. Scenes allows users to create rooms and equip them with furniture within the web browser. Other users can come visit and chat with each other. It’s nothing similar to the eXhibition:editor3D, but it’s nice to see 3D content getting more attention. Robert Scoble wrote about Vivaty in his blog.
Maybe full support for Firefox (3) and Mac OS X will be here soon. We will keep an eye on things.
Also, Google is entering the third dimension with Lively. It’s pretty much the same as Vivaty Scenes: build rooms, get furniture and chat with people. It will be interesting to see how this will affect Vivaty.
We will continue to closely follow the developments in the 3D scene!
The people behind MediaMachines have started a new project called Vivaty. The X3D player formerly known as Flux and the recommended player/plugin for the exhibition editor’s results is now called Vivaty Player.
The new version of the player finally supports Firefox!
We have been to Montreal, Canada, and although the weather was really nasty, the conference more than made up for it.
The mini-workshop on Friday 11th was well accepted and the audience was really engaged.
Take a look at the paper, visit the conference web site or follow the news.
With great pleasure we’d like to announce that eXhibition:editor3D is now able to additionally integrate your own 3D objects into your virtual rooms. The only prerequisite is that the 3D object is described by a valid .x3d file which can be created with the free Flux Studio for instance. Afterwards you can add these files to a repository and drop them into your rooms just as usual.
You acquired a taste for it? Download the new demo version or just take a look at the new show room in the gallery.
